Project Overview

The Icade Rungis Data Center is a major digital infrastructure development by French real estate operator Icade, located within the strategically important Parc d’affaires Paris Orly-Rungis, south of Paris, France. With a total building envelope of approximately 65,000 m², the project represents a significant component of Icade’s ReShape strategy, which expands the company’s activities into mission-critical digital infrastructure and responds to growing demand for data center capacity in the Paris metropolitan region. The development is positioned within an established business and logistics environment, providing access to major transportation routes, telecommunications networks, and the broader Paris digital ecosystem. Beyond its large physical footprint, the project places a strong emphasis on urban integration and sustainable infrastructure. One of its most notable features is an advanced waste heat recovery system designed to capture excess thermal energy generated by data center operations and redirect it toward useful applications outside the facility. The recovered heat is intended to supply district heating to the neighboring Rungis International Market, creating an energy connection between the data center and one of Europe’s largest wholesale food distribution hubs. This approach can improve overall energy utilization while reducing the amount of waste heat released into the environment and supporting local decarbonization objectives.
