Status: Under Development / Planned | Location: Greater Paris Metropolitan Area, Γle-de-France, France
The Île-de-France AI Infrastructure Campus in the Greater Paris Metropolitan Region represents a major hyperscale and sovereign artificial intelligence data center development executed by Verne under the ownership of private investment firm Ardian. Spanning more than 45,000 gross square meters across a multi-building industrial footprint, the campus is designed to provide approximately 150 megawatts of total utility capacity and 120 megawatts of critical IT capacity for high-density graphics processing unit clusters, deep-learning workloads, high-performance computing, and European sovereign cloud deployments. Electrical infrastructure is supported through dual high-voltage substation interconnections linked to the RTE French electricity transmission network, with modular static uninterruptible power supply systems configured in 2N redundant architectures to strengthen operational resilience. Emergency backup generation using hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) is designed to provide additional continuity while supporting lower-carbon backup operations. The thermal management architecture combines direct-to-chip liquid cooling platforms with high-efficiency free-cooling chilled-water systems operating under N+2 redundancy, allowing the campus to handle the substantial heat loads generated by advanced AI accelerators and dense computing clusters. The design also incorporates capabilities for recovering and exporting waste heat to local municipal heating networks, supporting improved energy utilization and integration with surrounding infrastructure. Strategically positioned within Europe’s major FLAP digital corridor, the campus benefits from proximity to Paris’s extensive telecommunications and cloud infrastructure ecosystem. As a carrier-neutral interconnection facility, it incorporates diverse subterranean dark-fiber entry routes providing low-latency connectivity to France-IX Paris, regional fiber networks, telecommunications exchanges, and global hyperscale cloud edge platforms. Through its combination of resilient grid infrastructure, high-density AI capacity, advanced liquid cooling, heat-reuse capabilities, and extensive network connectivity, the Île-de-France campus is positioned as an important component of France’s expanding sovereign AI and hyperscale digital infrastructure landscape.
