Iron Mountain Navi Mumbai: 85MW AI & Hyperscale Data Center Expansion

Status: Active Operational Phase (MUM-1 & MUM-2) / Under Construction (85MW AI Expansion Campus)   |   Location: TTC Industrial Area, Sector-8, Rabale, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra 400701, India

Project Overview

Iron Mountain Data Centers’ Navi Mumbai campus in Rabale represents a flagship 85 MW AI-ready hyperscale expansion that significantly strengthens India’s rapidly growing digital infrastructure landscape. Building upon the company’s operational MUM-1 (2.3 MW) and MUM-2 (6.0 MW) facilities, the new A$100 million+ (₹828 crore) development spans 4.78 acres and comprises two state-of-the-art high-density data center buildings with nearly 1.5 million square feet of total construction space. Strategically located in Navi Mumbai, one of India’s leading connectivity and technology hubs, the campus is purpose-built to support hyperscale cloud providers, multinational enterprises, and the increasing demands of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. Designed for next-generation GPU clusters, the campus incorporates advanced liquid cooling architectures that enable high-density rack deployments while improving energy efficiency and thermal performance. Its strategic location provides direct access to Navi Mumbai’s subsea cable landing infrastructure, enhancing international connectivity and enabling low-latency data transmission to global markets. The campus also offers a highly connected carrier-neutral ecosystem with access to more than 200 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and direct peering through major Internet Exchanges, including DE-CIX, Extreme-IX, and NIXI, ensuring resilient, high-performance network connectivity. Sustainability is a key component of the development, with 100% renewable power matching through Iron Mountain’s Green Power Pass programme, helping customers achieve ambitious environmental goals while supporting large-scale digital operations. Combined with enterprise-grade security, resilient infrastructure, and scalable AI-ready design, the Navi Mumbai campus provides a future-ready platform for cloud, AI, and mission-critical digital services across India and the Asia-Pacific region.
