Project Overview
NTT DATA’s Frankfurt 5 (FRA5) is a landmark 80 MW sovereign AI and hyperscale data center campus strategically located within the Greater Frankfurt metropolitan data center corridor, one of Europe’s largest and most interconnected digital infrastructure markets. As the fifth major facility in NTT DATA’s Rhein-Main portfolio, FRA5 expands the company’s total regional capacity to more than 250 MW, complementing the existing Frankfurt 1, Frankfurt 2, Frankfurt 3, and Frankfurt 4 campuses. Purpose-built to meet the rapidly growing demands of hyperscale cloud providers, enterprise customers, and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads, the campus is engineered to support ultra-high-density computing environments with advanced liquid-cooling infrastructure for next-generation GPU clusters and generative AI applications. The facility incorporates innovative waste-heat recovery technology that integrates directly with regional municipal district heating networks, helping to improve energy efficiency and comply with Germany’s Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG) while reducing environmental impact. Powered by resilient high-voltage utility infrastructure supplied by Mainova and Syna, FRA5 delivers reliable and scalable electricity to support mission-critical digital operations. As a carrier-neutral campus, it provides ultra-low-latency fibre connectivity to DE-CIX Frankfurt, one of the world’s largest Internet Exchange points, along with regional cloud on-ramps and access to multiple telecommunications providers, enabling seamless hybrid and multi-cloud deployments.
