Joliet Technology Center Building C2 represents a specialized hyperscale data center facility situated within Phase C of the master-planned Joliet Technology Center megacampus in Joliet Illinois. Developed by PowerHouse Hillwood Holding LLC a joint venture between PowerHouse Data Centers and Hillwood Development Company, the $20 billion 795-acre campus comprises 24 two-story buildings providing 1.8 GW of total capacity to serve heavy cloud and artificial intelligence processing demand in the Greater Chicago market. Building C2 is engineered to deliver 75 MW of gross power allocation and 60 MW of critical IT load within a two-story structure spanning approximately 144,500 square feet. Utility power is supplied via high-voltage substation interconnections with ComEd and PJM Interconnection grid infrastructure, supported by static modular 2N uninterruptible power supply topologies alongside emergency standby backup diesel power generation units. Thermal management utilizes air-cooled chilled water plants integrated with direct-to-chip liquid cooling loops capable of cooling high-density GPU server racks. Positioned within the Chicago data center ecosystem, Building C2 features subterranean dark fiber entry vaults, dual carrier-neutral meet-me rooms, direct dark fiber connections into central Chicago network exchange points, and zero-trust biometric security perimeter controls.
