KIO MEX2 Querétaro Data Center Campus: 19MW Digital Hub

Status: Operational (Phase 1) / Active Expansion   |   Location: Circuito El Marqués Norte 21A, Parque Industrial El Marqués, 76246 El Marqués, Querétaro, Mexico

Project Overview

KIO Networks’ MEX2 / QRO2 Data Center Campus in El Marqués, Querétaro, is a strategically located digital infrastructure hub that serves as one of the most important connectivity, cloud, and colocation platforms for Mexico and Central America. Situated within Querétaro’s leading industrial and technology corridor, the campus is designed to meet the increasing demand for hyperscale cloud computing, enterprise digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and mission-critical government and sovereign workloads. The facility delivers up to 12 MW of critical IT capacity across three purpose-built 1,200 m² data halls, expanding KIO Networks’ combined Querétaro campus capacity to nearly 19 MW while providing scalable infrastructure for future growth. Engineered for maximum resilience, the campus features N+1 electrical block redundancy, redundant UPS systems, backup power generation, and advanced environmental monitoring to ensure continuous operations for business-critical applications. Connectivity is a key strength of the development, with dual underground fibre routes, direct interconnection to KIO’s regional fibre rings, and low-latency access to major telecommunications carriers, cloud service providers, and internet exchanges throughout Mexico and neighbouring markets. The campus also incorporates energy-efficient cooling technologies and intelligent building management systems that optimise power usage while maintaining the thermal performance required for high-density compute environments. Supported by robust physical security, multiple layers of cyber protection, and carrier-neutral network architecture, the MEX2 / QRO2 Campus provides a secure, scalable, and future-ready platform for enterprises, hyperscale cloud providers, financial institutions, and public sector organisations, reinforcing Querétaro’s position as Mexico’s premier data centre and digital infrastructure destination.
