LG CNS Samsong AEGIS Data Center Campus: 80MW Hyperscale & AI Hub in Seoul Metro
Status: Fully Operational Hyperscale Facility (Completed July 2026) | Location: 690 Ogeum-dong, Deogyang-gu 10435 Goyang-si South Korea
Project Overview
The LG CNS Samsong AEGIS Data Center Campus is a landmark hyperscale digital infrastructure facility located in the Samsong district of Goyang, within the northwestern Seoul metropolitan area of South Korea. Developed by IGIS Asset Management and operated by LG CNS, the campus has been designed to meet the rapidly growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, enterprise digital transformation, and high-performance computing (HPC) across one of Asia's most advanced technology markets. The campus delivers a total critical IT capacity of approximately 80 MW across a 78,290 m² development comprising two purpose-built facilities, Block A with 50 MW and Block B with 30 MW. Configured with two basement levels and five above-ground stories, the campus provides flexible, high-density colocation space capable of supporting hyperscale cloud providers, financial institutions, government organizations, telecommunications companies, and large enterprises with mission-critical workloads. Purpose-engineered for next-generation computing, the facility is optimized for AI model training, large language model (LLM) processing, machine learning, data analytics, and GPU-intensive environments requiring exceptional power density and thermal efficiency. Advanced direct-to-chip liquid cooling (DTC) technology enables efficient heat removal from high-performance processors, supporting modern AI clusters while improving overall energy efficiency. The electrical infrastructure incorporates lithium-ion battery UPS systems supplied by LG Energy Solution, providing reliable backup power, faster recharge capabilities, and improved lifecycle performance compared with conventional battery technologies. Redundant power distribution, standby generators, precision environmental monitoring, and resilient mechanical systems ensure continuous service availability for critical operations. The campus also features seismic-resistant structural engineering, comprehensive fire detection and suppression systems, biometric access controls, and 24/7 security monitoring to protect customer infrastructure. Strategically positioned within the Seoul-Gyeonggi digital corridor, the LG CNS Samsong AEGIS Data Center Campus offers high-speed connectivity to major telecommunications networks, cloud platforms, and regional internet infrastructure, reinforcing its role as a key digital hub supporting South Korea's expanding AI ecosystem, cloud adoption, and long-term digital innovation.
