Status: Operational / Strategic Hyperscale Flagship | Location: 29 Simin-daero 327beon-gil, Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, 14055, South Korea
The LGU+ Pyeongchon Mega Centre 2, also known as the Pyeongchon 2nd IDC, is a high-density hyperscale data center owned and operated by LG Uplus (LGU+) at 29 Simin-daero 327beon-gil, Dongan-gu, Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Located adjacent to LG Uplus’s first Pyeongchon Mega Centre in the Greater Seoul metropolitan area, the facility was developed to address rapidly increasing demand for artificial intelligence, generative AI, cloud computing, and other data-intensive digital workloads. The nine-story facility, including four basement levels, provides approximately 60,450 square meters of total gross floor area and delivers around 40 MW of critical IT load capacity. Designed for high-density computing environments, Pyeongchon Mega Centre 2 supports rack power densities of up to 20 kW per rack, allowing customers to deploy increasingly demanding compute infrastructure within a scalable hyperscale environment. The facility is also designed with readiness for direct-to-chip liquid cooling, enabling future deployment of advanced thermal management technologies for GPU-intensive AI workloads that generate substantially higher heat densities than conventional enterprise servers. In addition, optimized air-side economizer systems are incorporated to improve cooling efficiency by taking advantage of suitable external environmental conditions, helping reduce the energy required for mechanical cooling. Its location in Anyang provides access to the extensive telecommunications, business, and technology ecosystem of the Seoul metropolitan region while maintaining proximity to major enterprise and cloud customers. By combining substantial IT capacity, high-density rack support, liquid-cooling readiness, and energy-efficient cooling infrastructure, Pyeongchon Mega Centre 2 strengthens LG Uplus’s position in South Korea’s rapidly expanding hyperscale and AI data center market and provides scalable infrastructure for next-generation digital services.
