Macquarie Data Centres Macquarie Park 200MW AI Campus Sydney Australia

Status: Under Development / Planning Phase   |   Location: Between Talavera Road & M2 Motorway, Macquarie Park, NSW 2113, Australia

Project Overview

The Macquarie Park 200MW Data Center Campus, located between Talavera Road and the M2 Motorway in Macquarie Park, Sydney, represents a major digital infrastructure development by Macquarie Data Centres within the strategically important Sydney North Zone fiber corridor. Developed across approximately 34,200 square meters of land alongside educational facilities and a public community park, the technology campus is designed to support high-density artificial intelligence workloads, hyperscale cloud deployments, high-performance computing, and enterprise digital infrastructure. The development provides 200 megawatts of total utility capacity, supported by high-voltage utility substation connections and resilient electrical distribution infrastructure. Modular static uninterruptible power supply systems configured in 2N redundant architectures provide additional protection for critical computing equipment, while emergency standby diesel generators are designed to maintain operations during utility interruptions and grid disturbances. Thermal management combines advanced closed-loop air-cooling systems for primary heat rejection with direct-to-chip liquid cooling loops capable of handling the substantial thermal loads generated by next-generation graphics processing units and high-density accelerator clusters. The cooling strategy is designed to reduce operational water consumption while maintaining stable temperatures across intensive computing environments. Strategically positioned within Sydney’s established technology ecosystem, the campus is intended to operate as a sovereign Australian cloud and connectivity hub. Dual subterranean fiber vaults provide resilient, high-speed connectivity to major Australian internet exchanges, telecommunications networks, international submarine cable landing stations, and sovereign government networks. Its location within the Sydney North Zone also provides access to established enterprise, cloud, and financial-services infrastructure across the metropolitan area. By combining substantial utility capacity, redundant electrical systems, advanced liquid cooling, water-efficient thermal management, and extensive fiber connectivity, the Macquarie Park campus is positioned to support Australia’s growing requirements for AI computing, hyperscale cloud services, government workloads, and enterprise digital infrastructure.
