Project Overview

The MEO Tenente Valadim, also known as the Tenente Valadim Data Center or Altice Tenente Valadim, is a primary urban central office, telecommunications routing hub, and colocation data center operated by MEO Empresas, part of Altice Portugal. Located at R. de João de Deus 636 in Porto’s Tenente Valadim business district, Portugal, the facility serves as an important telecommunications gateway and enterprise hosting node for Northern Portugal. Its strategic location within Greater Porto enables MEO to support regional enterprises, telecommunications operators, and digital service providers with localized connectivity and hosting infrastructure while maintaining integration with its broader national network. MEO Tenente Valadim functions as one of Altice’s principal technical facilities in the Porto metropolitan area, providing high-density telecommunications cross-connects, managed hosting white space, and carrier-neutral meet-me capabilities. These services allow customers and network operators to establish direct interconnections and access MEO’s extensive telecommunications infrastructure. Designed to Tier III-equivalent standards, the facility incorporates resilient systems intended to support continuous operation of mission-critical telecommunications and IT workloads. Its electrical infrastructure includes dual-path power distribution and redundant UPS arrays, while emergency diesel generation provides additional backup during utility interruptions.
