Status: Operational / Primary Northern Enterprise Hub | Location: R. Henrique Pousao, n.o 432, 4461-901 Senhora da Hora - Matosinhos, Portugal
The NOS Data Center NS, formerly known as Mainroad NS or NOS Matosinhos Data Center, is a primary regional enterprise colocation and cloud data center operated by NOS Sistemas, the enterprise IT division of Portuguese telecommunications provider NOS SGPS. Located at R. Henrique Pousao, n.o 432 in Senhora da Hora, Matosinhos, within the Porto Metropolitan Area of Portugal, the facility serves as an important technology and network central office for Northern Portugal. The site provides approximately 1,800 square meters of technical raised-floor white space, supporting enterprise cloud hosting, carrier colocation, telecommunications infrastructure, and other mission-critical IT workloads. Its strategic position in the Matosinhos area places the facility within Porto’s broader technology and telecommunications ecosystem, enabling NOS to deliver localized digital infrastructure services to enterprises and network customers across Northern Portugal. Designed to Tier III-equivalent specifications, NOS Data Center NS incorporates resilient electrical and environmental systems intended to support continuous availability. Its power infrastructure uses dual-path A+B redundant distribution, complemented by static UPS arrays and backup emergency diesel generation to provide additional protection during utility interruptions or equipment failures. N+1 precision cooling systems maintain appropriate environmental conditions for server and networking equipment, supporting stable operations across the technical white space. The facility also benefits from direct, low-latency fiber connectivity to the GigaPIX Porto Internet Exchange hub, enabling efficient traffic exchange with participating networks and service providers. Integration with NOS’s national optical network further connects the site to the company’s wider telecommunications infrastructure across Portugal. In addition, connectivity to NOS’s primary twin facility, NOS Imopolis in Greater Lisbon, provides geographic diversity and strengthens the relationship between the company’s northern and southern infrastructure hubs. Through its combination of substantial technical space, resilient power and cooling, carrier connectivity, and national network integration, NOS Data Center NS functions as a key component of NOS’s enterprise infrastructure strategy and supports Porto’s growing role as a regional digital and telecommunications hub.
