NEXTDC P2 Perth Data Center: 20MW Hyperscale & AI Cloud Campus Western Australia
Status: Fully Operational Hyperscale & AI Infrastructure Hub | Location: 20 Leeder Street, East Perth, WA 6004, Australia
Project Overview
NEXTDC P2 is Perth's flagship Tier IV hyperscale data center, strategically located in East Perth adjacent to the city's central business district, providing one of the most advanced and resilient digital infrastructure platforms in Western Australia. Purpose-built to deliver approximately 20 MW of critical IT capacity within an eight-story vertical facility, P2 is engineered to support mission-critical enterprise applications, hyperscale cloud deployments, high-density artificial intelligence computing, financial services, government workloads, and next-generation digital platforms. Designed with Tier IV fault-tolerant architecture, the facility incorporates fully redundant power and cooling systems, concurrent maintainability, multiple independent distribution paths, advanced fire detection and suppression technologies, intelligent building management systems, and multi-layer physical security with continuous monitoring to ensure exceptional levels of availability and operational resilience. P2 is optimized for high-density rack deployments and future-ready liquid cooling integration, enabling organizations to efficiently support GPU-intensive AI and high-performance computing environments. As Western Australia's premier international connectivity hub, the facility serves as a key landing point for major subsea cable systems, including INDIGO-Central, Australia Singapore Cable (ASC), and the Oman Australia Cable (OAC), providing low-latency connectivity between Australia, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Through NEXTDC's AXON platform, customers gain direct, private access to leading cloud providers, including AWS Direct Connect, Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Interconnect, and other major cloud ecosystems, while benefiting from a rich carrier-neutral environment with multiple telecommunications providers and internet exchanges. The combination of resilient Tier IV infrastructure, global network connectivity, scalable power capacity, cloud enablement, and AI-ready design positions NEXTDC P2 as a critical digital gateway for Western Australia, supporting enterprise digital transformation, international business operations, and the region's rapidly growing demand for secure, high-performance, and globally connected data center infrastructure.
