The NFD Dangjin Songsan Data Center Campus is a proposed $900+ million (â‚©1.24+ trillion) AI-ready digital infrastructure development in the Songsan 2 General Industrial Complex in Dangjin, South Korea, designed to provide large-scale computing capacity for high-density artificial intelligence and cloud workloads. Developed by NFD Korea in partnership with EFD, the project spans approximately 43,188 square meters, with a total gross floor area of around 106,716 square meters, and is master-planned as a six-building campus. A major infrastructure advantage is its secured 300 MW power grid connection through Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), providing the substantial electrical capacity needed to support multiple high-density computing facilities. The campus is specifically engineered for AI training, inference, cloud computing and other accelerated workloads, reflecting the rapidly increasing power and thermal requirements of modern GPU infrastructure. Its planned rack densities of up to 160 kW per cabinet place the development firmly within the high-density AI data center segment, where conventional air cooling can become increasingly difficult to apply effectively. To manage these thermal loads, the campus incorporates direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems, enabling heat to be removed directly from high-performance computing components and supporting dense GPU deployments. The six-building configuration also provides flexibility for phased development and allows computing capacity to be expanded as demand for AI and cloud services increases. Its location within an established industrial complex provides access to existing infrastructure while positioning the campus within South Korea's broader technology and manufacturing ecosystem. The combination of substantial grid capacity, high rack-density capability and advanced liquid cooling gives the project a strong technical foundation for next-generation AI infrastructure. By bringing together 300 MW of secured power, six data center facilities and support for racks reaching 160 kW, the NFD Dangjin Songsan campus is positioned as a significant high-density computing development in South Korea. The project could strengthen the country's capacity to support increasingly demanding AI training, inference and cloud workloads while demonstrating the growing importance of dedicated power infrastructure and liquid cooling in modern data center design.
