Nvidia Mevo Carmel AI Campus

Status: Announced / Planning Phase   |   Location: Mevo Carmel Science and Industry Park, Northern Israel

Project Overview

The Nvidia Mevo Carmel AI Campus is a mission-critical infrastructure development designed to house the next generation of artificial intelligence research. Spanning approximately 30,000 square meters within the Mevo Carmel Science and Industry Park, the facility is strategically located just kilometers from Nvidia’s existing R&D headquarters in Yokneam. The project is being developed through a high-profile partnership with Mega Or DC, a leading industrial real estate firm, which will manage the facility's construction and leasing, while Nvidia oversees the highly specialized technical operations and internal compute equipment.

At the heart of the campus is a new, state-of-the-art supercomputer that will far surpass the capabilities of Nvidia’s current Israel-1 supercomputer. The facility is specifically engineered to support the Nvidia Blackwell (GB200 and GB300) architectures, which are essential for training large language models (LLMs) and processing complex generative AI workloads. Unlike commercial colocation sites, this campus will be used exclusively for Nvidia’s internal R&D, serving as a proving ground for the company’s future silicon and software innovations. It will also house advanced development laboratories where thousands of engineers will test new GPU chips under development.

The technical requirements of the Mevo Carmel campus are unprecedented for the region. With a massive 64 MW power demand—more than double the capacity of neighboring high-tech sites—the project has required a significant upgrade to the local power infrastructure. To manage the extreme thermal output of its 140kW+ racks, Nvidia is introducing advanced liquid-to-chip cooling technologies, which are expected to be imported specifically for this project. These systems will significantly reduce energy consumption compared to traditional air-cooling, enabling a target PUE of 1.18.

This announcement coincides with Nvidia’s broader vision for northern Israel, which includes a separate 160,000-square-meter "Spaceship" campus in Kiryat Tivon capable of hosting 10,000 employees. Together, these two projects represent a multi-billion dollar bet on the future of AI. Construction for the Mevo Carmel facility is expected to be finalized within 18 months of the lease signing, with full-scale operational occupancy targeted for 2031, transforming the Haifa-Yokneam corridor into one of the most powerful AI compute clusters on the planet.
