Project Overview
Ooredoo’s Muscat Data Center Campus in Bawshar is a flagship three-story digital infrastructure facility developed to support Oman’s Vision 2040 digital transformation strategy. Located within Ooredoo Oman’s headquarters campus, the facility spans approximately 7,000 m² and delivers 2.5 MW of critical IT capacity through dedicated, isolated data halls serving both Ooredoo’s core telecommunications infrastructure and its cloud subsidiary, data2cloud. Designed to Tier III uptime standards, the campus provides 99.98% availability with resilient N+1 redundancy across power and cooling systems to ensure continuous operation for mission-critical applications. The data center functions as a sovereign cloud hub and secure data repository for enterprise, banking, government, and public sector organizations, supporting digital services, business continuity, and regulatory compliance within Oman. Integrated with Ooredoo’s nationwide 5G core network and high-capacity domestic and international fiber infrastructure, the campus delivers low-latency connectivity for cloud computing, content delivery, and digital transformation initiatives. Built with scalable infrastructure to accommodate future growth, the facility also offers advanced physical security, continuous environmental monitoring, and energy-efficient operational systems. As one of Oman’s key carrier-neutral digital infrastructure assets, the Muscat Data Center Campus strengthens the country’s cloud ecosystem while enabling secure, high-performance hosting and connectivity services for organizations accelerating their digital modernization efforts.
