Paris Verne 500MW Sovereign AI High Performance Campus

Status: Under Construction (Phase 1 Groundwork)   |   Location: 36-43 Great Sutton St, London EC1V 0AB, United Kingdom

Project Overview

The Paris Verne Île-de-France Hyper-Campus represents a massive structural milestone for European digital sovereignty, specifically engineered to deliver localized high-performance computing (HPC) without relying on external cloud jurisdictions. Orchestrated through a €5 billion investment partnership between private equity powerhouse Ardian and specialized data operator Verne, this monumental 500MW development addresses the acute shortage of AI-ready infrastructure inside the FLAP (Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris) markets. Strategically situated within the secure industrial belt of the Île-de-France region, the campus is explicitly master-planned to scale in phases, deploying an initial 200+ MW block tailored directly for intensive large language model (LLM) training, multi-tenant AI scaling, and sensitive public sector computational workloads. Architecturally, the campus sets an ecological benchmark by implementing a strict low-carbon footprint framework from foundation to roof line. The buildings utilize advanced low-carbon structural concrete combined with high-grade recycled steel frames to suppress initial embedded carbon development. To fulfill the massive power requirements of next-generation GPU clusters, which frequently scale past 100kW per cabinet, the engineering design completely eliminates legacy air-chilled cooling systems. Instead, the facility operates an advanced closed-loop Direct-to-Chip (DTC) liquid cooling layout. This mechanical infrastructure targets a class-leading Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.12, while capturing 100% of the generated industrial waste heat to pump straight into regional municipal district heating grids.
