Prime Finland: €6B Järvenpää AI-Ready 550MW Campus

Status: EIA Phase / Pre-Development (April 2026)   |   Location: Vähänummi Industrial Area, Järvenpää

Project Overview

As of April 2026, Prime Data Centers has expanded its European commitment to a staggering €6 billion for the Järvenpää campus, positioning the project as one of the most ambitious AI-ready infrastructure developments in the region. Technically, the campus is designed as a benchmark for circular data center architecture, where efficiency extends beyond power usage into full lifecycle energy optimization. The site is engineered to recover nearly 100% of the waste heat generated by its high-density AI clusters and redirect it into the local district heating network, significantly reducing reliance on fossil-based heating across the city. This tight integration with municipal infrastructure lowers the carbon footprint of both the data center and the surrounding urban environment. In parallel, Prime is leveraging updated 2026 fast-track environmental impact assessment protocols introduced by the Finnish Licensing and Supervision Agency to accelerate project timelines while maintaining compliance with strict sustainability standards. Once completed, the 550MW campus will not only support hyperscale AI workloads but also align with Europe’s growing push for data sovereignty, ensuring that critical AI infrastructure remains within regional regulatory and environmental frameworks.
