Prime Data Centers Avondale AZ1 240MW AI Campus

Status: Fully Operational / Newly Launched Phase 1   |   Location: Avondale Digital Zone, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA

Project Overview

The official opening of the first facility on Prime Data Centers' massive 240-megawatt campus in Avondale, Arizona, marks a major expansion milestone for the Phoenix data center market. Spanning a vast 66.5-acre site, this state-of-the-art campus is specifically engineered from the ground up to support the intensive, large-scale compute footprints required by generative artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning frameworks, and global cloud providers. The multi-story facility features a highly customizable layout designed to handle severe processing workloads, hosting rows of next-generation high-density server racks that power advanced AI workloads for global enterprises and hyperscale clients. The strategic location within the Southwest US allows the campus to serve as a high-performance alternative to traditional, resource-constrained West Coast hubs. To efficiently cool the extreme thermal loads generated by advanced processing chips, the Avondale campus utilizes a state-of-the-art, closed-loop air-cooled chiller system. This innovative layout provides direct-to-chip liquid cooling integration readiness for power densities exceeding 100 kilowatts per rack, while operating with an exceptional zero-water-consumption framework during standard procedures to preserve critical regional desert resources.
