Project Summary

Retelit Settimo Milanese Via Darwin Enterprise Colocation Data Center

Status: Operational / Strategic Milan Metro Node   |   Location: Via Carlo Roberto Darwin 85, 20019 Settimo Milanese (MI), Italy

Project Overview

The Retelit Settimo Milanese Data Center, also known as the Retelit Campus Via Darwin, is a carrier-neutral enterprise colocation, cloud access and telecommunications gateway facility operated by Retelit S.p.A., a portfolio company of Asterion Industrial Partners. Located at Via Carlo Roberto Darwin 85 in Settimo Milanese, within the Metropolitan City of Milan in Lombardy, Italy, the facility serves as an important digital infrastructure node within the western Milan data center corridor. Its strategic location provides access to Milan's extensive telecommunications ecosystem, enterprise market and regional fiber networks, supporting organizations that require resilient colocation, disaster recovery, cloud connectivity and carrier interconnection services. The facility is designed around Tier III equivalent availability principles and provides secure technical whitespace for business-critical IT and telecommunications equipment. Its resilient electrical infrastructure incorporates dual A+B utility power feeds, static uninterruptible power supply systems and emergency diesel generator backup, while N+1 precision thermal management supports stable operating conditions for computing and networking equipment. Connectivity is a central component of the facility's infrastructure profile. Retelit Settimo Milanese is integrated with Retelit's extensive national fiber backbone, which provides high-capacity connectivity between major Italian metropolitan markets and supports access to wider European telecommunications routes. The facility also benefits from its proximity to MIX, the Milan Internet eXchange, providing efficient interconnection opportunities with carriers, internet service providers, cloud platforms and other network operators. Its position within the western Milan digital corridor enables enterprises to connect their infrastructure with one of Italy's most important business and technology markets while maintaining access to geographically distributed network resources. The facility supports a range of applications including enterprise colocation, cloud access, disaster recovery, telecommunications infrastructure and carrier interconnection. As demand for hybrid cloud, distributed computing and resilient enterprise IT environments continues to grow, strategically positioned carrier-neutral facilities are becoming increasingly important to the digital infrastructure ecosystem. Retelit Settimo Milanese combines resilient technical infrastructure with extensive fiber connectivity and access to Milan's interconnection market, strengthening its role as a regional platform for enterprise and telecommunications workloads. Through Retelit's broader network, the facility also provides customers with connectivity beyond Milan to other Italian and European digital infrastructure hubs, making it a significant component of the region's growing data center and connectivity landscape.
