Project Overview

The SDC San Marcos campus, located at the intersection of Center Point Road and South Old Bastrop Highway in San Marcos, Texas, represents a master-planned hyperscale data center development designed to accommodate the growing infrastructure requirements of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, high-performance computing, and enterprise digital services. Spanning approximately 50 acres, the campus is planned to provide up to 84 megawatts of critical IT power capacity across two major facilities totaling approximately 430,000 square feet. Its strategic position along the technology corridor between Austin and San Antonio provides access to major commercial markets, telecommunications networks, and regional technology ecosystems throughout Central Texas. Electrical infrastructure is supplied through dedicated high-voltage utility feeds from San Marcos Electric Utility, with integration into the ERCOT transmission grid providing a resilient foundation for large-scale computing operations. Static uninterruptible power supply modules provide backup protection for critical computing systems, while dedicated onsite emergency standby diesel generators with multi-day fuel reserves are designed to maintain essential services during utility interruptions. The campus incorporates advanced cooling technologies focused on high efficiency and reduced water consumption, including waterless liquid cooling and closed-loop air cooling systems capable of supporting high-density artificial intelligence and accelerated computing workloads. These systems are designed to manage the increasing thermal requirements of dense computing environments while minimizing dependence on conventional water-intensive cooling methods. Network infrastructure is also a key component of the development, with subterranean dark fiber entry pathways providing diverse connectivity routes and low-latency links to major cloud providers, enterprise network backbones, and Central Texas technology hubs. By combining significant power capacity, resilient electrical infrastructure, advanced water-efficient cooling, and high-performance connectivity, the SDC San Marcos campus is positioned to become an important hyperscale digital infrastructure hub supporting the continued expansion of AI, cloud, and enterprise computing across the Austin-San Antonio technology corridor.
