Serverfarm Atlanta Data Center (ATL1)

Status: Fully Operational Enterprise, Cloud & AI-Ready Gateway   |   Location: 305 Satellite Boulevard, Suwanee, GA 30024, Georgia, United States

Project Overview

Serverfarm ATL1 is a premier 12 MW carrier-neutral data center strategically located in Suwanee, Georgia, approximately 35 minutes northeast of downtown Atlanta, providing a highly resilient digital infrastructure platform for enterprises, cloud providers, financial institutions, healthcare organizations, telecommunications operators, and government agencies across the southeastern United States. Originally developed by AMD and acquired by Serverfarm in late 2017, the facility has been extensively modernized and expanded to support evolving enterprise IT requirements, regional cloud deployments, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. Operating under Serverfarm's InCommand™ Data Center Management as a Service (DMaaS) platform, ATL1 leverages intelligent automation, predictive analytics, centralized infrastructure management, and real-time monitoring to improve operational efficiency, optimize energy consumption, and maximize infrastructure performance. The facility delivers approximately 12 MW of critical IT capacity with high-density whitespace supporting around 150 watts per square foot, enabling flexible deployment of enterprise applications, hybrid cloud environments, and next-generation compute infrastructure. Engineered for maximum reliability, ATL1 incorporates redundant utility power feeds, resilient electrical distribution systems, backup generators, energy-efficient cooling architecture, intelligent environmental monitoring, and advanced fire detection and suppression systems to ensure continuous availability of mission-critical services. Multi-layer physical security, including biometric access controls, continuous video surveillance, and 24/7 on-site operations personnel, safeguards customer infrastructure. As one of the region's key interconnection facilities, ATL1 features nine Meet-Me Rooms (MMRs), extensive carrier-neutral fiber connectivity, and direct access to major cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, while providing low-latency connections to Atlanta's major carrier hotels and telecommunications ecosystems. Its strategic location within one of the fastest-growing technology markets in the United States enables customers to deploy scalable, cloud-connected infrastructure with exceptional regional connectivity. By combining intelligent operations, resilient engineering, rich interconnection services, and AI-ready infrastructure, Serverfarm ATL1 plays a critical role in supporting digital transformation and next-generation enterprise computing throughout the southeastern United States.
