Project Overview

Serverfarm LAX1 is a premier 17.3 MW carrier-neutral data center strategically located in El Segundo, California, less than two miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), providing one of Southern California's most connected and resilient digital infrastructure platforms. Positioned within the greater Los Angeles technology and communications corridor, the facility serves enterprises, hyperscale cloud providers, digital media companies, aerospace and defense organizations, financial institutions, healthcare providers, and telecommunications operators requiring secure, high-performance infrastructure for mission-critical applications. Managed through Serverfarm's InCommand™ Data Center Management as a Service (DMaaS) platform, LAX1 utilizes intelligent automation, predictive analytics, real-time monitoring, and centralized infrastructure management to optimize operational efficiency, energy performance, and asset utilization. The facility delivers approximately 17.3 MW of critical IT capacity with high-density whitespace capable of supporting around 200 watts per square foot, making it well suited for enterprise IT environments, hybrid cloud deployments, AI-enabled applications, content production, and high-performance computing workloads. Engineered with resilient utility power, redundant electrical distribution, energy-efficient cooling systems, backup generators, intelligent environmental controls, and advanced fire detection and suppression technologies, LAX1 is designed to ensure maximum uptime and business continuity. Multi-layer physical security, including controlled access, continuous video surveillance, and 24/7 on-site operations, provides comprehensive protection for customer infrastructure. As a major West Coast connectivity hub, the facility features six dedicated Meet-Me Rooms (MMRs), extensive carrier-neutral fiber infrastructure, direct AWS Direct Connect connectivity, and low-latency access to downtown Los Angeles carrier hotels and regional internet exchanges, enabling seamless hybrid and multi-cloud architectures. Its strategic location near LAX also supports global business operations through excellent regional and international network connectivity.
