Status: Operational / Strategic Hyperscale AI Flagship | Location: 80 Gasan-ro 9-gil, Geumcheon District, Seoul, 08513, South Korea
The SK Broadband IDC Gasan Center is a major carrier-neutral hyperscale data center operated by SK Broadband, a subsidiary of SK Telecom, at 80 Gasan-ro 9-gil in Seoul’s Geumcheon District, South Korea. Positioned as an important AI-scale colocation facility within the Seoul Metropolitan Area, the data center is designed to support enterprise cloud services, high-density computing, GPU acceleration, and other data-intensive workloads. The facility comprises a 10-story building with five basement levels and provides approximately 69,088 to 69,300 square meters of gross floor area, equivalent to approximately 745,000 square feet. It is engineered to deliver approximately 46 MW of critical IT load and is supported by up to 80 MW of total grid power capacity, providing substantial electrical infrastructure for large-scale deployments. The facility is also designed to accommodate high-density computing environments, with rack power densities of up to 44 kW per rack, making it suitable for GPU-intensive artificial intelligence applications and advanced cloud workloads. Built to Tier III standards, the center incorporates redundant infrastructure designed to support high availability and maintain service continuity during maintenance or equipment failures. Its seismic protection system is engineered to withstand earthquake conditions of up to magnitude 7.0, strengthening the facility’s resilience in the event of significant seismic activity. The data center is positioned to support enterprise cloud deployments, colocation requirements, and GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) infrastructure, providing customers with scalable access to high-performance computing resources. Its location in Gasan also places it within Seoul’s established technology and telecommunications ecosystem, providing connectivity to major enterprises, carriers, cloud platforms, and digital service providers. By combining substantial power capacity, high-density rack support, Tier III infrastructure, and enhanced seismic resilience, SK Broadband IDC Gasan Center strengthens the Seoul market’s capacity to support the rapid growth of AI, cloud computing, and next-generation digital infrastructure.
