G42 AI Solutions for Digital Transformation and Data Center Innovation

Status: Launch: March 2026   |   Location: UAE–U.S. AI Campus, Abu Dhabi

Project Overview

The Stargate UAE project, unveiled in Abu Dhabi on March 2, 2026, represents the first international deployment of the legendary "Stargate" AI supercomputer architecture. This isn't just a data center it is a 1-gigawatt compute cluster nested within a massive 5-gigawatt UAE–U.S. AI Infrastructure Campus. Spanning 10 square miles, this campus is the largest AI deployment ever attempted outside the United States, serving as a physical manifestation of the "U.S.-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership".

The project is led by G42, the UAE’s sovereign AI champion, in a unique operational partnership with OpenAI and Oracle. Technically, Stargate UAE is built to handle the next generation of artificial general intelligence (AGI) training. It will feature hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs—the first deployment of this architecture globally connected via Cisco’s most advanced AI-optimised networking fabric. The sheer scale of the 200 MW initial phase is designed to provide "nation-scale compute", allowing both local and global entities to perform low-latency inferencing that can reach half the world’s population within a 2,000-mile radius.

Sovereignty and security are the project's primary pillars. To align with US export controls and "Pax Silica" standards, G42 has implemented an Assurance Compute Framework. This includes cryptographic hardware tracking and a "Regulated Technology Environment" (RTE) that provides real-time transparency to both UAE and U.S. regulators regarding the use of advanced AI semiconductors. This level of infrastructure-native governance is a global first.

Powering a 5 GW campus requires an unprecedented energy strategy. Abu Dhabi is leveraging its Barakah Nuclear Power Plant to provide consistent, carbon-free baseload power, supplemented by vast solar farms and gas peaker plants. This energy mix ensures that Stargate UAE can maintain near-perfect uptime for the most intensive AI training runs in history. Beyond the racks, the campus features a Science Park dedicated to talent development, aiming to train the next generation of AI engineers from the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. By 2030, Stargate UAE is expected to be the primary engine for breakthroughs in personalized medicine, energy modernization, and global financial modelling.
