Project Overview

Stream DC Chicago I is a 155,189 sq ft hyperscale data center facility located on an expanded campus at 2080 Lunt Avenue in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, serving major cloud tenants and high-density computing requirements within the Chicago data center market. Originally developed as a 126,689 sq ft facility with 15 MW of critical IT load, the property was expanded by 28,500 sq ft to support a 31 MW total utility power allocation, increasing the infrastructure available for large-scale cloud deployments. Power is supplied directly through ComEd grid infrastructure, providing the electrical foundation required for the facility’s expanded capacity and high-density workloads. Chicago I incorporates 2N critical load support, providing fully redundant infrastructure paths for critical IT systems and strengthening resilience during maintenance or infrastructure events. High-efficiency airside economizer cooling loops provide an energy-conscious approach to thermal management by using suitable outside-air conditions to reduce reliance on mechanical cooling when environmental conditions permit. The facility also offers customizable high-density rack configurations, allowing cloud and enterprise customers to tailor deployments to different power and equipment requirements. Connectivity is supported through dual subterranean carrier-neutral fiber vaults, providing diverse physical entry points for telecommunications infrastructure and enabling access to multiple network providers. Direct low-latency connectivity to Chicago’s core network exchanges further integrates the facility with the region’s broader carrier and interconnection ecosystem, supporting cloud services, enterprise applications, content delivery, and high-volume data exchange. Its location in Elk Grove Village places Chicago I within a well-established data center corridor with extensive utility and fiber infrastructure. By combining an expanded 155,189 sq ft footprint, 31 MW total utility power allocation, 2N critical load support, efficient cooling, high-density rack flexibility, and diverse carrier-neutral connectivity, Stream DC Chicago I provides a scalable platform for hyperscale cloud and data-intensive workloads.
