Project Overview

STACK Infrastructure CHI01 Campus is a 14-acre hyperscale data center development spanning 1301 and 1441 Touhy Avenue in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, with more than 221,000 sq ft of total footprint and 40 MW of total critical IT capacity across multiple facilities, including CHI01A and CHI01B. The campus is engineered for demanding AI, machine learning, enterprise cloud, and other high-density workloads, with power densities exceeding 25 kW per rack and integrated liquid-cooling capabilities to address the increasing thermal requirements of advanced computing infrastructure. Direct power delivery from Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) utility infrastructure provides the electrical foundation for the campus’s large-scale operations and supports deployment of high-density computing environments. The infrastructure incorporates N+1 and block-redundant UPS topologies, providing additional electrical resilience and capacity for maintenance and critical equipment events. Pumped refrigerant free-cooling systems provide an efficient approach to thermal management by leveraging suitable ambient conditions to reduce mechanical cooling requirements. Connectivity is another key component of the campus design, with dual subterranean Meet-Me-Rooms providing diverse physical entry points for network providers and supporting carrier-neutral connectivity. Low-latency dark fiber routes to 350 East Cermak further connect the campus to a major Chicago interconnection location, enabling efficient access to carriers, cloud networks, and broader digital infrastructure ecosystems. The Elk Grove Village location also places CHI01 within a mature Chicago data center cluster with established utility and fiber infrastructure. By combining 40 MW of critical IT capacity, a 14-acre development footprint, high-density rack support, liquid cooling, resilient UPS architecture, free-cooling technology, and diverse fiber connectivity, STACK Infrastructure CHI01 Campus provides a scalable platform for hyperscale, AI, machine learning, and enterprise cloud deployments.
