STT Chennai 7: 45MW AI-Ready Data Centre Campus Launch
Status: Active Phase 1 Operation / Phase 2 Scaling (June 2026 update) | Location: Siruseri IT Park, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
Project Overview
The STT Chennai 7 facility at the Siruseri Tech Park represents a major milestone in STT GDC India's long-term national infrastructure expansion strategy. Designed specifically to support the next generation of artificial intelligence (AI) applications, the facility is engineered to handle high-density GPU clusters, accelerated computing environments, and compute-intensive Large Language Model (LLM) training workloads. As AI adoption accelerates across industries, demand for scalable, power-efficient, and low-latency digital infrastructure continues to grow, making STT Chennai 7 a strategically important addition to India's expanding data center ecosystem. The campus is being developed as part of STT GDC India's broader investment initiative under a ₹4,200 crore expansion agreement with the Government of Tamil Nadu. This partnership aims to strengthen the state's position as one of India's leading digital infrastructure hubs while attracting investments in cloud computing, AI, semiconductor design, and advanced enterprise technologies. The project is expected to contribute significantly to regional economic development through job creation, technology innovation, and improved digital connectivity.
