Uniti Portland Data Center & Network Node

Status: Operational / Edge Connectivity Hub   |   Location: 707 SW Washington St, Portland, OR 97205, USA

Project Overview

The Uniti Portland Point of Presence (PoP) & Edge Facility is a strategic network interconnection and edge infrastructure node operated by Uniti Wholesale, formerly known as Windstream Wholesale, at 707 SW Washington St in Portland, Oregon, USA. Located within downtown Portland’s primary telecommunications corridor and near the established Pittock Block interconnection hub, the facility provides wholesale connectivity and edge colocation capabilities for telecommunications carriers, network operators, cloud providers, and enterprise customers. Its central urban location enables low-latency access to Portland’s broader fiber ecosystem while providing an important connection point between local networks and long-distance wholesale infrastructure. The facility functions as an access terminal and network node linking the Pacific Northwest with major national fiber routes, including network paths extending toward Hillsboro, Seattle, and Salt Lake City. This strategic positioning enables customers to establish diverse connectivity across regional and national markets while benefiting from proximity to Portland’s enterprise and telecommunications communities. Built to telecommunications central-office standards, the site is designed to accommodate secure colocation cabinets and mission-critical network equipment while supporting carrier interconnection and high-capacity transport services. Its infrastructure is particularly suited to organizations requiring wavelength transport, dark fiber connectivity, carrier-grade network services, and distributed edge infrastructure. Cloud providers and network operators can use the facility to establish strategic points of presence closer to regional customers while connecting into broader national fiber networks. The facility’s location also complements Portland’s growing role as a connectivity gateway between Pacific Northwest markets and larger US network hubs. As demand for cloud connectivity, enterprise networking, edge computing, content distribution, and high-bandwidth applications continues to grow, strategically located PoP facilities play an increasingly important role in reducing network latency and improving route diversity. Through its combination of carrier interconnection, secure colocation, wavelength transport, and dark fiber capabilities, the Uniti Portland facility strengthens the wholesale connectivity ecosystem in downtown Portland and provides an important network bridge between local infrastructure and national fiber routes.
