EdgeMode Villasequilla AI Campus
Status: Approved / Ready-to-Build (RTB) | Location: Villasequilla, Spain
Project Overview
The EdgeMode Villasequilla AI Campus is a cornerstone of the massive 3.5 GW partnership between EdgeMode and BAIF, officially expanded on January 28, 2026. Located in the strategic corridor just south of Madrid, this 600 MW facility is designed to solve the primary bottleneck of 2026: power-secured AI capacity. While many global projects are stalled due to grid congestion, Villasequilla is "Ready-to-Build" with secured high-voltage power lines already in place.
The facility is architected specifically for "liquid-to-chip" cooling, a necessity for the latest generation of AI clusters that exceed 120 kW per rack. By moving away from traditional air-cooling, the campus achieves a significantly lower PUE while maintaining the thermal stability required for 24/7 LLM (Large Language Model) training and inference.
Spain’s role in this project is tactical; the country’s high solar and wind penetration allows EdgeMode to offer "Carbon-Neutral Compute" at a lower cost than traditional FLAP-D markets (Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris, and Dublin). Furthermore, the campus integrates a "Circular Economy" model, where the heat byproduct from the GPUs is captured to support local industrial greenhouses in the Toledo region. This 600 MW site alone is expected to anchor Spain’s "Sovereign AI" initiative, providing the processing power necessary for European-based AI startups and government agencies to maintain data residency within the EU.
