WBS Power/Prime Capital Hyperscale Campus (Co-located with Project Jupiter)

Status: Pre-Construction/Planning (Targeting 2026/2027 Start)   |   Location: Former military airfield, Brandenburg, Germany

Project Overview

This upcoming hyperscale data center project in Brandenburg, Germany, represents a significant shift toward deeply integrated, sustainable digital infrastructure in Europe. Developed through a joint venture between renewable energy specialist WBS Power and Prime Capital, the campus is planned for a colossal 500 MW of IT load. Its strategic location at a former military airfield was chosen specifically for its existing access to a crucial 380kV high-voltage power line, a feature that has become a critical bottleneck for data center growth in the constrained FLAP-D (Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin) markets.

What makes this project truly unique is its direct co-location with Project Jupiter, a massive renewable energy scheme. This includes up to 150 MW of solar power and a colossal 500 MW / 2,000 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), one of the largest co-located BESS installations in Germany. By integrating the data center with this major renewable energy and storage hub, the developers aim to ensure the facility is powered by a high percentage of clean, carbon-free energy, directly supporting Europe's ambitious climate goals and upcoming EU Data Centre Energy Efficiency Package requirements.

The development is a direct response to the massive demand from global hyperscalers and AI labs, which are increasingly seeking locations that can provide reliable, large-scale, and, most importantly, green power capacity outside of the traditional, grid-strained urban hubs. While the project is currently in the pre-construction phase, with the BESS and solar components slated to begin construction in late 2026 or early 2027, its successful implementation will set a new standard for sustainable, utility-scale digital infrastructure development across the continent, reinforcing Germany's position as a key player in the European data center landscape
