Status: Operational (Initial Phases) | Location: Southaven (DeSoto County)
MACROHARDRR is the flagship expansion of xAI’s "Colossus" supercomputing cluster. Announced as a record-breaking $20 billion investment in early 2026, the facility achieved "warp speed" execution by retrofitting an 810,000-square-foot industrial warehouse in Southaven, Mississippi. The project was fast-tracked to go operational by February 2026, positioning it as a core node in what xAI calls the "Digital Delta."
The campus is engineered for unparalleled compute density, pushing xAI’s total regional capacity to nearly 2 gigawatts. It is designed to train the most advanced iterations of the Grok generative AI model. A key technical differentiator is its vertical energy integration; the site is located adjacent to xAI's newly acquired power plant assets, allowing for direct-to-chip power delivery and reducing reliance on the traditional utility grid. To manage the extreme heat generated by its massive GPU arrays, the site employs advanced liquid cooling and customized power distribution units (PDUs) capable of supporting racks exceeding 100kW.
