EDF Group is a major French energy company with a large nuclear and renewable generation portfolio and extensive electricity infrastructure. The company is becoming increasingly involved in the data center sector by making industrial land, grid capacity, electricity supply, and development support available to digital infrastructure operators. EDF has identified multiple former industrial sites in France for high power data center development, with approximately 2 GW of potential capacity initially identified. In Montereau Vallée de la Seine, EDF and OpCore are pursuing a data center campus of several hundred megawatts with approximately €4 billion of investment and initial commissioning targeted for 2027. EDF has also selected SoftBank Group as preferred bidder for a planned 400 MW data center at its former Bouchain site.
