FCT, or Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, is Portugal's national public agency for science, technology and innovation. Through its FCCN unit, FCT manages digital infrastructure supporting Portuguese research and higher education, including data center hosting, national networks, cloud storage and advanced computing. FCT operates and coordinates access to national supercomputing resources including Deucalion, and participates in European HPC initiatives. It is also overseeing construction of the new National Advanced Computing Center data center in Guimarães, which will host advanced computing equipment for science, technology and innovation. In 2026, FCT also procured cooling equipment for its Azurém 2 data center, demonstrating continued infrastructure expansion.
