Korea South Power Consortium

Korea South Power Consortium is a collective of Korean energy and technology entities exploring AI data center development in South Africa. The consortium is associated with Korea Southern Power Company, a state owned Korean power generation utility. In Durban, South Africa, the consortium has entered discussions with eThekwini Municipality to explore an AI data center in Kingsburgh, south of Durban. The proposed development is estimated by the municipality at between $3 billion and $10 billion, depending on final size and technology partners. The municipality would provide land and infrastructure, while the developer would fund construction and operations. The project remains at the feasibility and engagement stage.
