Slate Belt Holdings LLC is a joint venture between Talen Energy and the River Pointe Logistics team, established to develop a large-scale data center campus in Upper Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. The company acquired approximately 754 acres at the River Pointe Commerce Park site and is proposing up to 23 data center buildings, each covering about 201,500 square feet. Conceptual plans include a 480 MW on-site substation and potential expansion toward 2 GW of power capacity. The project is planned as a hyperscale digital infrastructure campus, although development remains subject to local zoning and regulatory proceedings. Slate Belt Holdings is currently challenging the township's zoning framework for data center development.
