Arbor Energy, GridMarket Partner to Deliver 5GW Power Pipeline for U.S. Data Centers

New York, United States - March 26, 2026 - Arbor Energy and GridMarket have announced a partnership to deliver up to 5 gigawatts (GW) of power to the U.S. data center market, addressing growing energy constraints driven by AI and hyperscale expansion.

The agreement focuses on providing reliable, baseload power to data centers, hyperscalers, and other large-scale infrastructure projects, with deployment expected to begin in 2029. The initiative comes as developers increasingly face delays in securing grid connections and sufficient electricity capacity for new facilities.

Under the partnership, Arbor Energy will develop and supply modular power generation systems, while GridMarket will connect this capacity to its network of data center developers and enterprise customers. The collaboration is designed to accelerate project timelines by offering dedicated, scalable energy solutions outside traditional grid constraints.

Arbor Energy’s offering is based on its HALCYON turbine platform, a modular system capable of delivering approximately 25 megawatts per unit. The technology leverages advanced combustion and supercritical CO₂ systems to enable low-emission power generation while maintaining flexibility to scale into large, multi-gigawatt deployments.

The companies said the model is intended to meet the urgent need for faster access to power, which has emerged as one of the biggest bottlenecks in data center development. As AI workloads drive higher compute density, energy demand is rising sharply, placing pressure on existing infrastructure and utility interconnection timelines.

Speed to power is becoming the defining factor for data center growth,” Arbor Energy noted, emphasizing the need for solutions that can be deployed more rapidly than traditional large-scale power plants.

GridMarket will play a central role in orchestrating the delivery of energy by aligning supply with demand across its platform, which connects utilities, developers, and infrastructure operators. The company said the partnership enables a more flexible approach to energy procurement for customers seeking to scale capacity quickly.

The 5GW pipeline represents one of the larger dedicated energy initiatives targeting the U.S. data center sector, where hyperscale operators are increasingly exploring on-site and behind-the-meter power solutions to overcome grid limitations.

Industry observers note that such partnerships highlight a broader shift in the market, as data center developers move beyond reliance on traditional utilities toward integrated energy strategies that combine generation, infrastructure, and digital workloads.

The collaboration underscores how solving the power challenge is becoming critical to enabling the next phase of AI-driven data center expansion across the United States.
