Visakhapatnam, India, November 13, 2025- US-based Tillman Global Holdings has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to develop a 300 MW hyperscale data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, with a total planned investment of INR 15,000 crore (~USD 1.7 billion). The agreement marks one of the largest single data centre commitments in eastern India and a significant step in the state’s digital infrastructure roadmap.

The project, referred to as TDGAP1, will occupy about 40 acres in the port city’s emerging technology corridor. According to official statements, the campus will create 200-300 direct and 800-1,000 indirect jobs over its multi-year construction and operational phases.

We are proud to partner with Andhra Pradesh to develop one of the region’s largest data centre platforms,” said Sachit Ahuja, Co-President of Tillman Global Holdings. “This project aligns with India’s growing role as a global digital hub, and we look forward to working closely with the state to accelerate sustainable growth.”

The MoU was signed in the presence of Andhra Pradesh ministers and senior officials from the APEDB. The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) was instrumental in facilitating the collaboration, underscoring continued US investment interest in India’s digital and renewable infrastructure sectors.

Government officials said the project will enhance local connectivity, attract cloud and AI infrastructure providers, and support the “Digital Andhra” initiative. The campus is expected to draw renewable power from local clean-energy sources, in line with state and national decarbonization goals.

Visakhapatnam has all the ingredients to become a next-generation digital hub,” an APEDB spokesperson said. “This partnership with Tillman Global marks a major milestone in that journey.”

The development adds to a growing list of global data centre investments in India, alongside recent expansions by AdaniConneX, CtrlS, and Yotta. Site selection, design, and regulatory clearances for TDGAP1 are underway, with construction expected to begin in phases from 2026.
