AirTrunk JHB2 Johor: 270MW Malaysia AI Campus
Status: Under Development / Announced | Location: 11-hectare (27-acre) campus, Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru, 79200 Johor, MalaysiaUnder Development / Announced
Project Overview
AirTrunk’s JHB2 campus in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, represents the company’s second hyperscale data center development in Malaysia, scaling up to over 270 MW of total capacity. Spanning an 11-hectare footprint within the major digital infrastructure hub of Iskandar Puteri and aligned with the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), JHB2 extends AirTrunk’s regional footprint alongside its 150 MW JHB1 facility, creating a combined flagship Malaysian platform exceeding 420 MW. Engineered specifically for next-generation cloud computing and dense artificial intelligence workloads, the campus features advanced direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems and liquid-assisted cooling architectures capable of managing extreme GPU rack densities. Power delivery is secured via dual 275kV high-voltage transmission feeds connected directly into Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s (TNB) regional grid, guaranteeing ultra-reliable baseload power. The development supports Malaysia's digital economic goals while incorporating industry-leading environmental standards. Designed to achieve a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.25, the campus integrates regional renewable energy options and greywater recycling initiatives to conserve local water resources. Positioned for cross-border low-latency connectivity into Singapore and broader APAC fiber hubs, JHB2 serves as a pivotal compute engine for global public cloud providers and enterprise AI platforms
