AirTrunk JHB3 Johor: 138MW Malaysia AI Campus

Status: Under Development / Announced   |   Location: 5.4-hectare campus, Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru, 79200 Johor, Malaysia

Project Overview

AirTrunk’s JHB3 campus in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru, represents the company’s third hyperscale data center development in Malaysia, delivering over 138 MW of total IT and facility capacity across 8 high-density data halls. Spanning a 5.4-hectare footprint, the facility forms part of AirTrunk’s multi-billion-dollar digital infrastructure platform in Johor alongside JHB1, JHB2, and JHB4, creating an interconnected regional megahub to serve global cloud providers and artificial intelligence platforms. Engineered specifically to support ultra-dense compute environments, generative AI model training, and GPU server clusters, JHB3 incorporates flexible liquid-cooling infrastructure designed to use 100% recycled water to minimize environmental impact and conserve potable municipal water. Baseline power reliability is secured via a permanent 275kV dual feed interconnected directly with the adjacent JHB2 campus substation network tapping into Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s (TNB) high-voltage transmission grid. The development supports Malaysia’s national strategy to establish itself as a premier APAC digital and AI hub. Featuring a design Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.30, carrier-neutral subterranean fiber routing, and multi-layered physical security, JHB3 provides hyperscale customers with rapid, resilient, and sustainable compute scaling across Southeast Asia.
