Project Overview
AirTrunk TOK1, located in the strategic Inzai cluster of Greater Tokyo, is one of the largest hyperscale data center campuses in the Asia-Pacific region. On March 10, 2026, AirTrunk announced the closing of a $1.2 billion (JPY 191.6 billion) green loan the largest ever for a data center in Japan to refinance and aggressively scale the facility. This investment is a direct response to the explosive demand for AI-driven workloads and sovereign cloud services within the Tokyo metropolitan area. The 13-hectare campus is designed to scale beyond its initial 300 MW target, with over 100 MW of additional high-density capacity currently under construction to accommodate major global cloud service providers.
The TOK1 campus is a pioneer in sustainable hyperscale design. The recent green loan is tied to strict sustainability performance targets, including industry-leading Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) and Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) metrics.
