NIN Gateway: 400-Rack National Data Center Pardis Tehran
Status: Operational / Final Integration | Location: Pardis (Tehran Province)
Project Overview
The NIN Gateway Hub, internally referred to as "Project Bonyan," is a strategic $1 billion infrastructure project designed to serve as the backbone of Iran's National Information Network (NIN). Developed under the management of ArvanCloud and the technology firm Fanap, the facility achieved operational status in January 2026. The primary objective of this project is to host critical sovereign services including banking, government payment platforms, and domestic social media while providing the capability to maintain internal connectivity during global internet outages.
Architecturally, the facility is a "digital bunker." It is located deep beneath Fanap’s administrative headquarters in Pardis IT Town, an area specifically chosen for its geological stability and defensibility against aerial or missile-based threats. All hardware for the facility was reportedly supplied by Huawei in early 2026, consisting of 24 containers of high-density server racks and networking equipment. This site acts as a central node for the country's "internet kill switch" protocol, allowing for the logical and physical isolation of domestic traffic from the global web to ensure "holistic resilience" during periods of regional conflict or internal unrest.
