Status: Active Development / Expansion Phase | Location: AirTrunk TOK2 Campus, 198-0024 Ome, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan
AirTrunk TOK2 – Building 2 is the second major hyperscale data center structure within AirTrunk’s flagship AirTrunk Tokyo West – TOK2 Campus, located on a 4.6-hectare site in Ome, Postal Code 198-0024, Tokyo Prefecture, Western Tokyo, Japan. As a key component of the campus master plan, Building 2 expands the site’s capacity for high-density computing and geo-redundant cloud infrastructure, complementing the first building and supporting the growing demand for advanced digital infrastructure outside central Tokyo. The facility is designed to deliver 40.0 MW of critical IT load capacity, contributing to the overall 110.0 MW campus master plan and providing substantial capacity for compute-intensive deployments. Building 2 is specifically engineered to accommodate demanding generative AI training clusters, machine learning workloads, hyperscale cloud nodes, and other high-density applications requiring scalable and resilient infrastructure. Built to Tier III equivalent standards, the facility incorporates high-voltage TEPCO grid interconnections alongside 2N/N+1 modular static UPS topologies to support reliable electrical distribution across critical IT environments. Emergency diesel power backup provides additional operational resilience during utility interruptions, while high-efficiency closed-loop liquid-to-chip cooling systems are designed to manage the elevated thermal loads associated with dense AI and accelerated computing hardware. Dual carrier-neutral Meet-Me-Rooms further strengthen the building’s connectivity architecture, providing direct fiber pathways to central Tokyo’s primary internet exchanges and enabling access to major telecommunications and network ecosystems. Together, its substantial IT capacity, resilient power architecture, advanced liquid-cooling infrastructure, and carrier-neutral connectivity position TOK2 – Building 2 as an important expansion within AirTrunk’s Western Tokyo hyperscale platform and a strategic component of the region’s emerging geo-redundant cloud and AI infrastructure ecosystem.
