Status: Active Development / Expansion Phase | Location: 6-chome-1 6-a, Ome, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan
AirTrunk TOK2 – Building 3 is an expansion hyperscale data center structure within AirTrunk’s flagship AirTrunk Tokyo West – TOK2 Campus, located on the 4.6-hectare campus site in 6-chome, Ome, Tokyo Prefecture, Western Tokyo, Japan. As a core component of AirTrunk’s Western Tokyo availability zone, Building 3 is designed to strengthen geographic redundancy for cloud and digital infrastructure customers seeking capacity beyond traditional data center hubs in Chiba. The facility is engineered to provide 30.0 MW of critical IT load capacity, completing the campus’s broader 110.0+ MW master plan and adding substantial high-density whitespace for advanced computing deployments. Its infrastructure is specifically configured to support artificial intelligence GPU deployments, machine learning workloads, hyperscale cloud environments, and other compute-intensive applications requiring scalable and resilient capacity. Designed to Tier III equivalent standards, Building 3 shares the campus’s dedicated 66kV high-voltage utility grid connections, establishing a robust electrical foundation for mission-critical operations. The power architecture incorporates 2N/N+1 modular static UPS topologies together with standby emergency generators, providing additional resilience for critical IT systems during utility interruptions and maintenance conditions. Cooling infrastructure is centered on an ultra-efficient direct air-free cooling plant, supporting thermal management for dense computing environments while enabling efficient operation across the facility. Carrier-neutral fiber pathways connect the campus with central Tokyo’s primary internet exchange points, providing access to major telecommunications networks, cloud platforms, enterprise connectivity, and wider digital ecosystems. Building 3 therefore adds an important layer of capacity and geographic diversity to AirTrunk’s Tokyo West platform, combining significant IT load capability with resilient power, advanced cooling, and network connectivity to support the continued growth of AI, cloud, and hyperscale workloads in the Tokyo metropolitan region.
