AirTrunk TOK2 West Tokyo Data Center: 110MW Hyperscale & AI Hub
Status: Operational & Active Phased Expansion | Location: West Tokyo, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan
Project Overview
AirTrunk’s TOK2 (Tokyo West) is a flagship hyperscale data centre campus located in Tokyo, Japan, designed to support the rapidly growing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. The facility delivers more than 110 MW of IT capacity across a 4.6-hectare development footprint, providing critical infrastructure for global cloud service providers, OTT platforms, financial institutions, and large-scale enterprise customers. Built as a strategic complement to AirTrunk’s TOK1 (Tokyo East) campus, TOK2 strengthens regional availability, redundancy, and geographic diversity within the Tokyo digital infrastructure ecosystem. The campus features advanced cooling innovations, including direct air-free cooling technology and high-density liquid cooling readiness to support next-generation AI GPU clusters and increasing rack power densities. Designed with sustainability at its core, TOK2 targets a power usage effectiveness (PUE) rating of 1.15 and incorporates energy-efficient operational systems. The project was financed through Japan’s first green loan for a data centre, highlighting its commitment to environmentally responsible development. Powered by carbon-free renewable energy options and zero-water-waste cooling systems, TOK2 minimises environmental impact while delivering scalable, resilient, and future-ready digital infrastructure. The facility represents AirTrunk’s continued expansion across Asia-Pacific and its focus on building sustainable hyperscale campuses capable of supporting the next era of digital growth.
