Status: Under Construction / Phased Deployment | Location: Dammam Energy City / Eastern Province Technology Corridor, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The Aramco Digital and Groq AI Data Center in Saudi Arabia represents a landmark high-density artificial intelligence inferencing facility being developed to accelerate AI adoption across the Kingdom and the broader MENA region. Engineered specifically to accommodate Groq’s proprietary Language Processing Units (LPUs), the advanced compute facility is designed to provide 125.0 MW of gross utility power capacity and 100.0 MW of critical IT load, enabling large-scale, low-latency AI inference workloads. Strategically positioned within Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, the facility is expected to support applications across energy, financial services, healthcare, government, and enterprise sectors while contributing to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 digital transformation objectives. Electrical infrastructure is designed around dedicated high-voltage utility grid connections from Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), complemented by static 2N uninterruptible power supply (UPS) architecture and onsite standby diesel generation for enhanced operational resilience. Thermal management incorporates advanced closed-loop chilled-water distribution together with direct-to-chip liquid cooling (DLC), enabling efficient heat removal from dense multi-kilowatt LPU rack configurations under demanding desert climate conditions. The facility is also designed with extensive connectivity infrastructure, including subterranean dark-fiber vaults, dual carrier-neutral meet-me rooms, and connectivity pathways providing access to regional subsea cable landing stations across the Arabian Gulf. Multi-layered physical and cybersecurity controls, including zero-trust security architecture, further strengthen the facility’s resilience. Together, these capabilities position the development as a major regional AI inference hub capable of supporting next-generation digital services and high-performance computing requirements.
