Arcem Husnes Data Center Gron Naeringspark Kvinnherad Norway 90MW

Status: Proposed / Land Secured & Grid Reservation Active   |   Location: GrΓΈn NΓ¦ringspark, 5460 Husnes, Kvinnherad Municipality, Vestland, Norway

Project Overview

The Arcem Husnes Data Center is a proposed large-scale green data center development situated on more than 60,000 square meters of industrial land within Grøn Næringspark, 5460 Husnes, Kvinnherad Municipality, Vestland, Norway. Developed by Arcem, the specialized Nordic data center platform of Oslo-based developer Bonum, the campus is designed to support a broad range of digital infrastructure requirements, including enterprise data storage, cloud services, and high-density artificial intelligence (AI) computing workloads. The project is planned for up to 90 MW of total capacity, providing substantial room for scalable computing infrastructure as demand for cloud and AI services continues to grow across the Nordic region. A major advantage of the development is its access to Western Norway’s abundant zero-carbon regional hydropower, providing a strong renewable energy foundation for large-scale data center operations. The site also benefits from access to low-latency Nordic fiber backbones, supporting high-speed connectivity for enterprise, cloud, and AI applications that require reliable network performance. In addition to its renewable energy and connectivity advantages, the campus is planned with heat-reuse compatibility within the green industrial park, creating opportunities to integrate waste heat from data center operations into surrounding industrial or energy systems. Grid owner BKK has already approved an initial power allocation of up to 40 MW for Phase 1, establishing an important foundation for the first stage of the project and its future expansion toward the planned 90 MW capacity. The combination of renewable hydropower, strong fiber connectivity, industrial land availability, heat-reuse potential, and phased electrical capacity positions the Arcem Husnes Data Center as a significant proposed digital infrastructure development in Western Norway, particularly for organizations seeking sustainable and high-density computing environments.
