Project Summary

Ascenty Hortolandia 6 Papa Joao Paulo II 31MW Hyperscale Data Center

Status: Under Development / Active Phase Expansion   |   Location: Rua Papa João Paulo II, Hortolândia, SP 13184, Brazil

Project Overview

The Ascenty Hortolândia 6 Data Center is a major hyperscale expansion facility developed by Ascenty, a joint venture between Digital Realty and Brookfield Infrastructure, in Hortolândia within the Metropolitan Region of Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil. Located on Rua Papa João Paulo II, the facility represents the sixth data center addition to Ascenty’s extensive Hortolândia mega-campus, further strengthening the region’s position as one of Brazil’s most important digital infrastructure corridors. Hortolândia 6 is designed to deliver approximately 31 MW of critical IT load capacity across around 22,000 square meters of gross facility space, supporting hyperscale cloud platforms, enterprise applications, artificial intelligence and other high-density computing workloads. Engineered to Tier III-equivalent standards with concurrent maintainability, the facility incorporates resilient infrastructure designed to support continuous mission-critical operations and simplify maintenance without disrupting IT services. The campus is powered using 100% renewable energy through dedicated high-voltage utility substations, providing a lower-carbon energy foundation for its large-scale computing requirements. Its electrical architecture includes a Tri-bus power distribution configuration, static UPS systems and standby diesel generation, providing multiple layers of redundancy and operational resilience. Eco-efficient chilled-water cooling systems provide thermal management for the facility, with liquid-cooling readiness supporting the increasing rack densities associated with AI and accelerated computing. Carrier-neutral connectivity is provided through Ascenty’s proprietary fiber network, which spans approximately 5,000 kilometers and connects the facility to major telecommunications routes, IX.br São Paulo and key cloud availability zones. The combination of substantial IT capacity, renewable energy, resilient electrical infrastructure, advanced cooling and extensive fiber connectivity positions Hortolândia 6 as a significant component of Ascenty’s Brazilian hyperscale platform and supports the continued expansion of cloud, AI and enterprise digital infrastructure across São Paulo and wider Latin America.
