Status: Operational & High-Density Expansion Phase | Location: Sjónarhóll 6, 235 Reykjanesbær (Keflavik), Iceland
The atNorth ICE02 Keflavik Mega Data Center, also known as Mjölnir, located at Sjónarhóll 6 in Reykjanesbær, Iceland, represents one of atNorth’s flagship high-density data center campuses in Southern Iceland. Developed on a 9-hectare site approximately five minutes from Keflavik International Airport, the facility provides approximately 13,750 square meters of data hall and whitespace capacity designed to accommodate power-intensive High-Performance Computing (HPC), artificial intelligence, enterprise cloud, and other advanced computational workloads. The campus benefits from Iceland’s abundant renewable electricity supply, with geothermal and hydroelectric generation providing a low-carbon energy foundation for continuous data center operations. Electrical infrastructure incorporates static 2N and Block N+1 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) configurations alongside emergency standby diesel generation to enhance operational resilience. The cooling architecture takes advantage of Iceland’s naturally cold climate through advanced free-cooling systems, supplemented by direct-to-chip (DLC) and other liquid-cooling technologies engineered for exceptionally dense computing environments, including rack configurations reaching 66.9 kW per rack or higher. As a major Nordic interconnection location, ICE02 is designed to provide robust connectivity through subterranean dark-fiber entry infrastructure, dual carrier-neutral meet-me rooms, and low-latency subsea optical routes linking Iceland with European and North American markets. Connectivity is supported through major international submarine cable systems, including FARICE-1, DANICE, and IRIS, strengthening the campus’s position as a strategic bridge between the Nordic region, continental Europe, and North America. Multi-layered physical security, controlled access systems, and zero-trust security principles further protect critical infrastructure and customer environments. Together, these capabilities position ICE02 as a major sustainable platform for next-generation HPC, AI, and cloud computing workloads.
