Status: Operational & High-Density AI Expansion Phase | Location: Hรธnefoss, Buskerud, Norway
The Nscale Oslo AI Data Center in the Greater Oslo region represents Nscale’s strategic enterprise computing and low-latency interconnection hub within Southern Norway. Developed as part of Nscale’s expanding European sovereign AI cloud infrastructure, the facility is designed to support mission-critical artificial intelligence workloads, including large-scale model training, fine-tuning, high-performance computing, and real-time inference for enterprise customers. Its location in the Oslo region provides access to Norway’s advanced digital infrastructure, extensive fiber networks, and low-carbon electricity supply, strengthening its role within Europe’s rapidly developing AI ecosystem. The facility is optimized for high-density GPU deployments and incorporates advanced liquid-cooling technologies capable of supporting demanding AI accelerator configurations. Utility electricity is supplied through Norway’s national grid via local distribution infrastructure, with renewable hydroelectric generation providing a low-carbon energy foundation. Electrical resilience is supported through modular static 2N uninterruptible power supply (UPS) architectures and standby diesel generation systems designed to maintain continuity during utility interruptions and equipment maintenance. Thermal management combines Norway’s naturally cool climate with free-cooling systems and high-density direct-to-chip (DLC) liquid cooling, reducing reliance on conventional mechanical cooling while supporting dense GPU server configurations. Connectivity infrastructure includes dual carrier-neutral meet-me rooms, dark-fiber pathways, and low-latency network routes connecting the facility with major Northern European enterprise and cloud markets. Physical protection is reinforced through multi-factor authentication and biometric access controls, while zero-trust cybersecurity architecture provides additional layers of protection for sensitive AI workloads and enterprise data. Collectively, these capabilities position the Oslo facility as an important component of Nscale’s European AI infrastructure strategy.
