AWS Palava Data Center: 473MW Hyperscale Cloud Campus Lodha Industrial Park Mumbai

Status: Under Development / Site Preparation   |   Location: Plot DC-01, Sector D1, Lodha Industrial Park, Palava Industrial and Logistics Park, Dombivli / Thane District, Maharashtra 410208, India

Project Overview

The AWS Palava Data Center is a major hyperscale cloud infrastructure development located within the Lodha Industrial Park in Palava, Dombivli, part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Maharashtra. Developed directly by Amazon Data Services India, the project represents a significant expansion of Amazon Web Services’ cloud infrastructure footprint in one of India’s most important technology and enterprise markets. The campus has been assembled through contiguous land parcel acquisitions, including approximately 38.18 acres acquired in late 2024 and a further 10.6-acre parcel secured in 2026, representing a combined land investment of more than ₹575 crore. The strategic land consolidation provides AWS with sufficient space to establish a large-scale hyperscale campus capable of supporting long-term expansion and increasing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, enterprise applications, and digital services across India. The development is planned to provide up to 473 MW of IT capacity distributed across four primary operational data center buildings, supported by two additional infrastructure facilities that will house critical electrical, mechanical, and operational systems. The campus is expected to strengthen AWS availability zone infrastructure for the ap-south-1, or Asia Pacific (Mumbai), region, improving the resilience, scalability, and performance of cloud services delivered to customers across India. Its location within the Palava industrial and technology ecosystem also provides access to established transportation, telecommunications, and utility infrastructure, supporting the requirements of a large hyperscale deployment. The project forms part of Amazon’s broader long-term investment in India’s cloud and digital economy and contributes toward fulfilling its announced $12.7 billion cloud infrastructure commitment to the country. With its substantial planned IT capacity, strategically assembled land footprint, multi-building campus configuration, and integration into AWS’s Mumbai cloud region, the Palava Data Center is positioned to become a significant hyperscale infrastructure hub supporting India’s rapidly growing digital workloads and cloud adoption.
